TO OUR CHILDREN, FROM OUR HOMELANDS follows the story of two young Marseillais from immigrant backgrounds, torn between love and weariness for their city. Through their intimate and clear-eyed perspective, the film paints a contrasting portrait of a summer in Marseille’s working-class neighborhoods — filled with heat, noise, beauty, and underlying tension.
The narrative shifts between moments of lightness and deeper reflections on belonging, the weight of origins, and the desire to leave or to stay. Shot with a sensitive and immersive approach, the film captures the pulse of an urban summer, oscillating between hope and melancholy.
