Eva, Carla, Sylvie — whether they are 13 or 55 years old, these women share a passion: football. Registered in Coudoux, they find their second family there. World Champions takes us inside this club that proudly celebrates women’s football.
At first, they were just dropping their daughters off at practice — but some of these mothers eventually crossed the white line themselves. They put on the jersey to face other teams, often much younger ones. Women who once didn’t even know how to lace up a pair of cleats quickly developed a taste for this new pastime.
Their ambition is quite different: no professional career in sight, just the simple desire to have a good time, to “enjoy themselves” with what has also become their “second family.”
These fifty-somethings quickly developed a strong sense of belonging to the club and the team. Pre-match rituals, tournament weekends, outings in town — on or off the field — they share unforgettable moments together.
They nicknamed themselves the “Panthers,” and they play with one guiding principle: pleasure. But the competitive spirit is never too far away.
